Edo 2020: The two sides of Oshiomhole after 2016 election
By Desmond Ibhagbe
Wonders they say shall never cease, a platitude living out it's fullness in build up to Edo 2020 gubernatorial elections holding on September 19, 2020 as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
As the elections draw closer, the run in have been filled
with intrigues, bewilderments, rancour and all forms of racketeering.
The battle for Osadebe avenue have been visibly "two
horses race" between the People's Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate cum
incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki and the candidate of the All Progressive
Congress (APC) Osagie Ize-Iyamu, after both switched side from the platform
with which they contested the Edo 2016 guber, though the later have been will contest
the Edo 2020 guber.
Various approaches have been employed by both parties and
their candidate to canvass vote.
Notably is the approach of the APC spearheaded by a former two time governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole.

While "politicking" have seen approaches that
range from showing candidate antecedents to public character assassination,
Nigerians especially Edolites are being schooled on a new campaign course by
Adams Oshiomhole. This new course serves him a remedial to the later aforementioned
approach.
Oshiomhole have been seen literally "consuming his own
faeces", an act coined COPROPHAGY.
The "comrade” as he is well known have stooped low to
this act to measure up his relevance as he like his namesake "Adam"
have been chased out of his political "Eden" of APC national
chairmanship.
An adage of the Esan people of Edo state says, "It is
because of the next four days or next market day that stooling in the market is
not to be done by an individual." Oshiomhole have come to meet his stool
after four years.
An insight into the Edo 2016 guber election and the pre-election
activities for the 2020 Edo guber election, would make one come to light of
Oshiomhole's self-demeaning feet.
Prior to the 2016 election, during his campaign against the
then PDP candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu, he made derogatory remarks of him that one
would give an "agama yes" to, with his presented proofs in mind.
In one of numerous
interviews, he labeled Pastor Ize-Iyamu "well known non-performer."

The question Edolites are asking is; why bring a tested
non-performer to be tested again?
He before a campaign
crowd in 2016 pledged to be liable for any libelous word against Ize-Iyamu and
to register his disgusts emphatically, he waived his immunity and swearing
before God who sees everything in heaven and the earth said "I did not
give Ize-Iyamu even a board appointment because he is a thief".
On the other hand, he showered encomium on Godwin Obaseki
citing his excellent schooling records and antecedents as head of economic team
of his administration.
Fast forward to 2020, this same Oshiomhole have been seen
kneeling with his hands like a praying mantis, pleading Ize-Iyamu's course.
He has gone from one
place to another, mediating for a thief to become the governor of his
"precious state".
While he's been full
of assuring words on voting him as governor which is same with the presidential
election campaign, he have not failed to deride his one-time school boy Godwin
Obaseki, a man who have been described as an astute scholar, a generous giver
and most of all, a man who rendered pro-bono service to Edo state government as
head of economic team.
"If they are
foolish, we are not fools and we will not forget", were some of his words
in 2016.
However, he seem to now count the people foolish with his
mingling with a pastor.
Though, it is a clear fact that Oshiomhole coprophags, only
time will tell if his malignancy would spread to the hearts of electorate.
And if this yields him a positive result, Edolites certainly
would be schooled into his newly evolved habit as autocoprophags as he have
been notorious for callous statement and treatment of vulnerable citizens of
Edo state.
