BREAKING: WAEC Examination will not hold this year- FG

Final year secondary school students in Nigeria won’t participate in the forthcoming West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations, the Federal Government has declared.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who disclosed this to State House Correspondents on Wednesday after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, also said there is no date for school resumption yet.

He said he would prefer Nigerian students lose an academic year to expose them to dangers.

Recall that the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba had announced on Monday that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will now hold from August 4 to September 5, 2020.

''Are we still unknown in this country?'' – Nigerians react to self-certification form order

  FIRS Chairman, Mohammad Nami Nigerians have reacted to the directive by the Federal government to account holders in financial institutions to submit self-certification forms. The Federal government ordered all account holders in financial institutions to submit self-certification forms to their respective institutions. The FG stated this on Thursday, September 17 via its twitter account, Government of Nigeria. ‘’@NigeriaGo’’ According to the tweet, ‘’This is to notify the general public that all account holders in Financial Institutions (Banks, Insurance Companies, etc) are required to obtain, complete and submit Self – Certification Forms to their respective Financial Institutions. ‘’Persons holding accounts in different financial institutions is required to complete & submit the form to each one of the institutions. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministerial Task Team on Covid -19 seals up the popular Jabi Lake Mall indefinitely for violating   Presidential Task Force’s directives on the ban on public gatherings as part of measures to contain the spread of the dreaded pandemic Corona Virus in the territory.
