Former APC Vice Chairman, Abdulkadir, is dead


The immediate past National Vice Chairman (North-West), of the All Progressives Congress, Inuwa Abdulkadir, is dead.

He died in the early hours of Monday after a brief illness.

A friend and his colleague in the defunct Adams Oshiomhole-led APC National Working Committee, who was the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shuaibu, confirmed the incident in a text message to The PUNCH.

Just In: FCTA seals Jabi lake mall indefinitely over Naira Marley’s show

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministerial Task Team on Covid -19 seals up the popular Jabi Lake Mall indefinitely for violating   Presidential Task Force’s directives on the ban on public gatherings as part of measures to contain the spread of the dreaded pandemic Corona Virus in the territory. This order issued by the FCT Task Force on COVID-19 came a day after popular musician Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley featured and entertained fun seekers around the area.   Magistrate Hidayat Akonni granted a two week seal up order of the mall. Naira Marley came under intense criticism for performing at the concert that recorded massive attendance on Saturday evening. Nigeria makes plans to assist DR Congo establish national fire service

  Nigeria is making preparations to assist the Democratic Republic of Congo to establish a national fire service. Dr Ibrahim Liman, Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) made this know on Wednesday in Jalingo when he paid a visit to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Taraba Command.   “The DR Congo requested for assistance and the FFS positively responded.   “The request became necessary due to the capacity of the organisation as the most qualified and second best fire responders in Africa,” he said.   The CG said that the qualification was determined by the capacity of its fire fighting equipment and the strength of its personnel.   He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for changing the narrative of the fire sector in Nigeria.   Liman further attributed the achievement to the commitment of the president who ensured that all the budgetary allocations had been released in 100 per cent form to the organisation.  ...
